Tim Tollefson, SPT, CSCS and Lindsay NelsonI spoke with a few of the representatives at the AFC Half expo last weekend here in San Diego and they were kind enough to give my fiance (Lindsay Nelson) and I free samples of the PR bars to test. I used half of one during the half marathon and ran a PR of 1:08:02 placing 12th, and Lindsay took hers prior to the race and ran a PR of 1:19:05 and placed 5th! I then tried the other bar during a 20 mile long run today and absolutely loved it. As an exercise physiologist, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and a future physical therapist (I graduate w/my masters degree in December), I am a firm believer in your product and its ability to enhance athletic performance. The two of us are training for this years Chicago Marathon October 9th, and then the Olympic Trials in Houston. She has already qualified for the Olympic Trials and I am hoping to run the standard in Chicago. We would absolutely love to continue using your product over the next 7 weeks and then leading into the Olympic Trials. As a health care professional and
coach, I feel I have a platform to reach an audience that would benefit from using your product and would love to be an ambassador for the company.

Thank you for the consideration and the great products you provide.

Anjali Forber-PrattI first met the incredibly supportive individuals from PR Bar just prior to my first Boston Marathon this past April at the expo. As an elite Paralympic athlete, I’m always searching for energy bars that get the job done providing me with the nutrients I need and quick fix to tide me over for long training sessions or days at the track and have some taste to them. I was pleasantly surprised that the PR Bars met all of this criteria for me! I am glad that there is a variety of flavor options so I can actually choose which one I want on a given day. Typically, when I get up in the morning and start getting ready to head out for practice, I grab one to munch on about 45 minutes before my training session. As a sprinter, typically my longer workouts are more challenging from an endurance perspective, but since adding PR Bars into my routine these workouts are becoming easier to get through. As an athlete, there is nothing worse than running out of energy during a long workout or a 15-mile day! And, as a sprinter, I have benefited greatly from the help from the PR Bars! Thanks for a tasty, helpful product!

Sergeant Major (Ret.) Keith L. WilliamsI served on active duty in the Marine Corps for 30 years. I discovered the power of the PR*Bar during a time that I was responsible for training our nation’s finest warriors for war. In pursuit of combat excellence, I found that the key to my Marines meeting the mental and physical demands of combat was keeping them properly nourished and fueled. Utilizing PR*Bars as an “on-the-go” fueling
solution, I realized that my warriors were able to go faster, longer, and harder, while sustaining a heightened level of intensity and mental clarity.

After 30 years I retired (in 2006) and found a second career working with high performance athletes; specifically world-class tennis players. In collaboration with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), I worked with fourteen top U.S. junior tennis players. During the 2007 and 2008 collegiate seasons, I worked with the University of Southern California’s tennis program (then a top ten program) and current “3-peat” National Champions. During 2009 and 2010, I worked with two world-class professional tennis players in pursuit of excellence on the ATP professional tour.

Although my work with each player or program differed to some degree, the one common denominator that remained the same was ensuring that each player established a definitive (pre-match and actual match) fueling regimen. Using PR*Bars as the nutritionally based protocol proved key to managing blood-sugar levels so that these elite athletes could achieve peak performance throughout an intense four or five hour match. I discovered that unique blend of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats found in each PR*Bar exceeded the blood/sugar and energy needs conducive to greater energy, focus
and sustained performance.

Now living in San Diego, in 2011, I began working with the University of San Diego men’s tennis program. In 2010, the University of San Diego (with a 12-9 record) finished the season ranked #61. As you may have guessed, my first order of business for was developing PR*Bar fueling plan to support the rigorous military type training that I used to kick off the 2011 campaign. This duel prong approach helped catapult the team to their best season since 1989 finishing with a 19-6 record and a West Coast Conference championship to go along with a final 2011 Division-1 ranking of #29 in the country.

As a life coach, mentor and trainer to high performance athletes, I can say without a doubt that PR*Bars sit at the heart of the success I have enjoyed at the elite military, national junior, collegiate, and professional level.

Sergeant Major (Ret.) Keith L. Williams

Brett MasiThe PR Bar has done wonders for my tennis program on a number of levels. Not only do I feel like we were properly fueled during our matches and practices, but I think the nutrition of the bar carried over to how my players ate away from the court as well. No doubt my players were able to sustain a higher level both physically and mentally throughout an entire match. I can remember a number of
times where we would be getting stronger and our opponents were weakening as a match went on and it was because we were using the PR Bar to refuel our athletes
throughout the course of the match.

The balance and nutritional value that the PR Bar gives you helps maintain the energy needed to play a 3-hour, 3-set tennis match or practice for 3-4 hours in a given day. I noticed such a big difference in my players attitudes and abilities when they weren’t taking the PR Bar. Their tempers would rise and their performance would suffer drastically. I have always been a big supporter of nutrition and I feel like after 10 years I have finally found the best source of food for my athletes that will allow them to perform at their highest level.

Matt HawkinsI was very fortunate to be introduced to the wonderful people at PR Bar recently and in doing so was given the opportunity to try their product. I have been an elite athlete for many years and have been very fortunate enough to try all sorts of nutritional products. By far the PR Bars are the best tasting and the different flavors are pretty incredible.

I have used the PR Bar now as my staple nutritional supplement for the past few weeks and have honestly been astonished with how well it works. I use it generally a half hour before training twice a day and the results really speak for themselves. Generally speaking as my work out progresses and I go in to the final 20 mins I definitely have fatigue setting in and my body is really digging deep to muster all it has to get through, but since eating the PR Bar, that has all changed. It really feels that I have a full fuel tank and that last 20 mins is when I actually come in to my own, which has been a really remarkable experience.

I have shared PR Bar with a few other friends, some regular folk and others are elite athletes and trainers like myself and across the board it has been a resounding YES to the greatness of the PR Bar.

I really can't thank the people at PR Bar enough.

Julie SekellaI'm about ready to turn 35 years old (OMG) and have been living with Type 1 Diabetes for 30 years. Most of my early childhood and adolescence was filled with continuous reminders of the three diabetic pillar balances for tight diabetes control -- nutrition, exercise, and insulin. Reminded with all the short and long term complications of diabetes, I've always been an advocate to be active. For me, it was gymnastics and softball as a teenager and running and/or weight lifting throughout college. However, over the last 12 years, my journey has evolved into more competitive sports such as running and triathlon races.

I recently completed a Full Ironman In November 2010 in Tempe, Arizona. I spent countless hours on my physical training but also on my emotional and diabetic readiness which included getting the correct carbohydrates and fats balances for blood sugar control. I was determined not to eat too much to spike my sugars but eating enough to avoid going hungry or my blood sugar becoming too low. Although completing that race was one to save in the steal trap, I remember moments of feeling hungry at times during the race.

When I set out to qualify for the Boston Marathon 6 weeks later, I was determined to find the right nutritional breakdown and frequency. At the sports expo, I was lucky enough to come across the PR Bar booth, meet the team, and receive all the information I was looking for. I have to be honest, I was a bit skeptical to change my race morning food routine at time in which "time' was everything. What did I have to loose though, I won't answer that ;)

I ate the bar - scratch that - I devoured the bar, as it was my last meal. The bar was fantastic and not to gritty or condensed. I drank some water then headed into the car to get towards the starts line. I had to get under 3 hrs and 45 min and 59 seconds to qualify. Ok, here we go then gun went off. Feeling pretty good I tested my blood sugar at mile 7 and it was 128 mg/dL. Perfect. Running legs still feeling good and stomach not too heavy or 'sloshy'. I tested my blood sugar again at mile 18 and it was 96 mg/dL. Can this really be going on, I thought? My left knee started to hurt at mile 21. Coming off of a Ironman 6 weeks earlier, my body was physically telling me I bit off more than I could chew. As I was limping an inch at a time, I was starring at my watch and convinced the time was actually speeding up. I hit mile 23 at 3 hours and 20 minutes. I have 3.2 miles to go in less than 25 minutes with a bum knee. I'm in trouble and hoping, maybe looking, for another reason to continue limping. Blood sugars in control - check. Stomach good - check. Hydration good - check. Ok, I can do this.... I'm not going to let this go due to an achy knee. I turned it into over-drive with sprints and trying to numb the constant and excruciating pain in my knee. I cross the finish line with a smile on my face and tear in my eye at 3 hour 42 mins 25 seconds. I checked my blood sugar minutes later.....92 mg/dL. I have to let the PR bar team know about this, I thought. Wait, let me first marinate about Boston.

The next weekend was the Carlsbad half/full marathon sport expo. I was so please to share my story, and telling anyone who would listen, about these bars and the benefits they carry.

Thanks Sheri, Chris, and the PR Bar team for making my goals a reality.

Looking forward to doing more upcoming races and crushing my personal best times!

Tim JunkinsI'm sure it's hard to remember all the people that you talked to in Nashville this weekend. I am the guy that is attempting to run 12 marathons in 12 months. You and another rep. gave me 4 bars to sample.

Well I went against the cardinal rule, and tried something new during a race. I just wanted to let you know how well they worked. I ended up running a 3:23 with a 118th overall place and 15th in my age group!! (43 yrs old) Not bad for my 3rd marathon in 3 months!! The bars were easy to eat on the run, unlike the powerbar I was using before I tried yours. I followed the program that you gave me almost perfectly. My run felt great, and more importantly my recovery is going very well. I have another marathon this weekend in Boone N.C. Two in 7 days!!

I'm going to try to get more bars for this weekend, but not sure if I can get them that quickly. If you had an xl tech shirt laying around, I would love to wear it in the next 9 marathons for some advertising. I don't know how much I can help, but anything that I can do just let me know. Thanks again for letting me test your product in battle, they work great!! Hope to hear from or see you all soon.

Laurel WrightHi Sheri,

I just wanted to let you know that this diet and the PR bars are Great!!!!! I have lost 13-15 pounds (and inches) in about 4 weeks and feel great (and I did get a PR on my 18 run last Sunday)!! I have passed on the PRbar website to several of my friends, family, and co-workers. Several of them have ordered the bars and started the diet .

I am an OB/GYN physician and I counsel many women on weight management and exercise. Since your plan is so healthy and easy to follow, I was wondering if you have any promotional material I can hand out to my patients? Or with your permission, may I copy your brochure that is sent out with the bars, and hand it out to my patients with the recommendations to look at your web site. In addition, for women who exercise only about 30min a day, what is your recommendations for the carbs/proteins/fats gram amount?

Finally, now that I am at my goal weight, what advice do you have to maintain the weight but still shed a few flabby inches? I am training for a full Ironman…so intense workouts are still present.

Thanks for your help!!!

Laurel Wright

KaraI have run 9 marathons and multiple half marathons, 10ks and 5k's and I am always in search of a bar that will keep me full and going strong...without the tummy pain. My sister has celiac disease and my father has type 2 diabetes and this bar is excellent for all three of us. I have started eating 1-2 bars a day and I am feeling more energized throughout the day. I have finally found the bar that I ma going to stick with! Thanks so much!

I need to place an order for the chocolate peanut butter bars soon or will they be in stores soon? I am an Athletic Director and i would love to let the kids at my school sample them before we order them for the book store....

Thanks!

Wade AkinsChris. Just to let you know - I used the PR*Bar just as you said. Normally my legs give out by mile 6. My best training time for the Half Marth was 4:20. Today, I did NOT get tired. Finished STRONG -even started running some and ran to finish line. Even ate one PB during the race gradually after 1:30. I did not take my Goo. Drank lots of water as U told me to do. Finished in 3:45. Best time ever for me at 66. HA! THANK YOU.

Pete BurgosI just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate the information you shared with me about nutrition during long distance running. Like I shared with you before, I have gone from hating running to loving it in just a couple of years. I have done 4 marathons and 7 half marathons in the last 3 years. I always strive to beat my personal record, but over the last couple of races I have been struggling to accomplish that, regardless of the mileage I put in during training.

I knew that my struggles stemmed from my race day nutrition, but I didn’t know how to fix it. I tried many different strategies, but it always ended up the same way, with my energy level being depleted and struggling to get to the finish line in goal time.

Last weekend I stopped by your booth at the Carlsbad Marathon Expo and I was entreagged by the information I received. The stabilization of blood sugars to make your body use your body fat for fuel, made a lot of sense. I did exactly what you told me, I ate a PR Bar half hour before the half marathon and stayed hydrated with just water during the race. My energy level was steady throughout the race and I felt better than any other race I have done in the past. I finished the race with plenty of energy and I finished in 1:43, almost 4 minutes faster than my previous half marathon PR. The PR Bar did exactly what you told me it would do, and even though I was a little reluctant, I am glad I tried it.

I am very excited about this product and can’t wait to use it during my training and my next race which will be the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon. I am anxious to see how much I beat my previous marathon time of 3:52. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing your booth at the next expo.

I tried the Yogurt Berry, but would love to try other flavors as well. As discussed on the phone today, I am enclosing my picture and address and can’t wait to get some more bars in the mail. Even though I feel like I want to keep this a secret, I am anxious to share with my training partners.

Thanks again

Reina AinsworthJust wanted to give you a shout out as I’m now back in Canada after a great race in Vegas. I went to your trade show booth and slightly reluctantly bought a box of your bars. The guy I dealt with was not only friendly, but knowledgeable. Even my boyfriend, who is a physician and not to mention a skeptic seemed to like what he had to say. Generally I eat fairly clean and try and avoid anything too processed, especially before a run. But Sunday at 6:30am, half hour before race time just like he said, I had the chocolate peanut-butter PR bar.

Not only did I run the marathon in 3hr & 42 min, but I did so without hitting that dreaded “wall”. I’ve been raving to everyone about these bars! Generally around the 20 mile mark I’m completely out of fuel. This bar kept me running the entire time (due to my stable blood sugar) and not once feeling tired. I know this is not a miracle bar that will help everyone run marathons. But your guy was true to his word and I’m happy to say I will be having one of these bars before every race.

I don’t usually write these sorts of testimonials (after all I do have a job!) but I thought it was important to say Thanks. I’ve attached a picture of me after I’d finished the race!

Debra SchreiberMorning PR*Bar,

Me again…your LV PR BAR promoter. As I mentioned to you at the expo I was going for another PR.

With my morning ritual of a Chocolate Peanut Butter PR Bar, a banana and a bottle of water..I'm happy to say I DID it. I came in 5:45 faster than Los Angeles.

Since I've been introduced to the PR Bar in San Jose I've improved my time 16:13 minutes.

Attached is my picture after the race. I carried the PR Bar wrapper with me so I could have a picture of it. That's how strongly I feel about the bar.

Funny thing is…the several people that I have introduced to the bar since San Jose all came up to me after the race and said what a difference it made for them..as they all PR'd as well.

When I get the actual picture I will forward it to you along with my certificates of improvement as PROOF the PR BAR did work for me.

Looking forward to seeing you in AZ?

Ted and Jennifer Wueste Dear PR*Bar

My wife and I met you at the San Antonio Rock N Roll Marathon. We bought a box of PR Bars and have since ordered 4 more boxes. We love them and have noticed a HUGE difference from other nutrition bars we've tried in the past. I ate one before the race in San Antonio. I set a new PR by 32 minutes! My goal was to break 4 hours, and I hit 3:52. I know that I can't attribute it all to the PR Bar but it definitely seems to have made a difference. In my subsequent training for upcoming races, I'm using the PR Bar as a part of my training and nutrition with great results.

Anyway - just wanted to follow up and let you know. Thanks for "selling" us on the PR Bar. We will definitely be using the PR*Bar in all future training and racing. Hopefully setting many more PR's!!!

Carl ErocksonHello PR*Bar

I have been a type 1 diabetic for over 30 years. It is a constant struggle to maintain blood sugar levels by eating the right food, doing the right amount of exercising and just plain living life. When I was given the PR Bar to try, I wasn't sure what to expect. I eat breakfast, then work at a desk job on the phone with little activity except a walk during my break. I eat a mid-morning snack because it is not consistent when I will be free to go to lunch. I've eaten granola bars for snacks before but always saw a spike in my glucose levels before lunch. I tried the PR Bar nutrition bars and, besides being delicious and satisfying, I was happy to see that I did not have the rise in sugar levels I had seen before. I highly recommend the PR Bar to anyone, diabetic or not, because of the nutritional value, taste, and value it provides.

A Happy Customer!

Percival CarinoHello PR*Bar and President Bill Logue,

I just got off the phone with the president of this wonderful company and wanted to just say Thank You guys for a GREAT product and Fantastic customer service. Currently I completed my first ever half marathon and now training for my first LA Marathon.

Bill was very informative and helpful with tips and words of encouragement. The information he gave me is worth more than the bars. I am also raising money for Aids Project Los Angeles and training in preparation for 26.3 miles of fun. I feel the work I am doing is my way of giving back to the community as so many wonderful people have given so much to me and support me in all of my endeavors.

After my half marathon I told Bill I used one of the bars I received at the health expo before working out and to my surprised I lifted for an hour and also did thirty minutes of cardio full of energy. Talk about a product that delivers and backs up their claims.

Today I ran 8.28 miles and too screen shots of my run, 30 minutes prior to my run I ate a PR Bar and drank plenty of water. As you can see my pace was constant and didn't stop to rest but just ran past my goal for the day and I still have plenty of energy today to keep going. Talk about a product that gives you the energy to keep going!!!

Thank you Bill Logue and PR*Bar for creating a wonderful product and I will tell my pace group about what you shared with me.

Eric DrummondMy old training partner, the PR*Bar is back! The PR*Bar helped me hit some great personal records back in the day, and now, a few age divisions later, I'm happy to be back with PR*Bar. Whether it’s a mountainous 14-miler, a flat and fast 5K, or a 60-minute tempo run, the PR*Bar allows me to keep pushing the limits of training and racing. A pre-workout PR*Bar gives me the fuel necessary to sustain intense workout and race efforts, while a post-workout PR*Bar provides optimum recovery nutrition with none of the side effects of other bars. Welcome back my PR*Bar buddy!

Donna BoyleI've used PR Bars since you first sold them - from some place in Solana Beach, if I remember correctly. And I've been buying them from the Goldshield distributor, after many arguments with them about how awful they were: too much honey, ugly texture, etc. To their credit, they sent me a few "reformulated" bars to test, but those were only marginally better.

In the 80's, 90's, well, up until about five years ago, we would go backpacking in the Sierras every summer, and PR Bars were a necessity. We'd eat them as trail snacks, as part of lunch, at midnight in the tent when the stomach growls got us. So I was thrilled to get your message today. Welcome back. I'm sorry that you had to come out of your golfing retirement, but if you
can set this ship back on the right trajectory, and then keep it there as you return to your life of leisure, we'll all be better off.

Thanks!

David Desser (Four-time Ironman finisher and member of 2005 Team USA at World Maccabiah Games in Israel)I have been training and racing I-distance to Ironman since 1991, and was an early customer of PRBar. As a former intercollegiate basketball and tennis player, I have been exposed to top trainers and nutritionists. The 40/30/30 nutritional approach and PRBar have been a key to my successful, injury free twenty seasons as an age group athlete.

Bill and Sheri care about their customers and make a superior product. I expect they will continue where they left off - on top.

Aimee & OdieWe just want to say WOW! the bars are great!!!! We have seen them in magazines and were so fortunate to have met you guys at the expo in Chicago. My fiancé Odie and I just love them! We purchased a box from you at the expo which you gave us a sampler pack, Thank you for that. We just wanted to let you know we love them and certainly will be ordering more.

The morning of the Rev 3 Cedar Point 70.3 we both had a PR Bar. I didn't participate in the Rev 3, I was just a spectator but it really kept me satisfied with no drop in Blood Sugar. Odie did participate and had a PR Bar before the start of the race, that race he had a PR finishing just a few minutes past 5 hrs. We love the bars and find them not only to be delicious and satisfying but there has been no bonking or feeling of sluggishness.

Cheers to the PR Bar!
Great Move in buying back the company!

Cindy WaliczekI have been a loyal fan of PR*Bar since the 90s when they first came out. They’ve often been a staple of my diet, allowing me to make major gains in bodybuilding, while managing my body fat levels, strength and endurance. As a mother of two, busy professional and dedicated athlete, often it’s challenging to balance the demands of real life with managing a daily nutritional regimen. Having a box of bars available meant that I could stay on track, manage my energy levels and gracefully handle social situations involving food I didn’t want to eat.

In 1999 and facing my 40th birthday, I entered the WNBF pro-qualifier in my area and won the competition, earning my pro-card. Now having passed my 50th birthday and still holding my pro-status, I remain dedicated to a fitness lifestyle – in the gym every day – and I’m thrilled that the PR*Bar is back.

I plan to lift weights for the rest of my life, and I hope that the PR*Bar can stay with me. I love the Chocolate Peanut flavor the most – just seeing the new website makes my mouth water! Thanks, Bill and Sheri, for your commitment to athletes and healthy eaters of all types, and for bringing the PR*Bar back!

David SalvetteI started eating PR*Bars in the 90s. It was the first energy bar that I ordered by the case. My favorite flavor was Chocolate Peanut with Granola being second. One day when I phoned in an order, I was lucky enough to talk to the owner, who referred to his product as "bars" and mentioned how many thousand he had sold that week. I'll never forget the "bar" code that was similar to the way an economist speaks of "widgets," although these widgets created a handsome income for the owners and a real treat for the customer!

Eric PerronI've just completed two Ironman races in the past two months using the PR*Bar. I did the Ironman Lake Placid at the end of July and just finished Ironman Canada this past weekend. I missed qualifying for Hawaii by one spot at Lake Placid but thankfully qualified at Canada by knocking 10 minutes off my time from Lake Placid, finishing in 9:44. Not that impressive compared to some of the greats you've dealt with in the past, but I'm quite happy with it! I look forward to setting another personal record in Hawaii.

Eric SmithI have been actively training for over five years and have seen and used almost every energy bar and method there is. It has been nothing short of amazing. I can’t imagine training without it.

George PostI was looking for a nutritional meal plan where I could maintain my daily high intensity bike workouts and be competitive in monthly bike races. Then PR*Nutrition suggested the PR*Bar and FastBurn Nutrition Program. They have enabled me to achieve my goals without fatigue or slower performance. With the FastBurn Nutrition Program I have seen better muscle recovery from strenuous training and races, as well as improved performance times. Likewise, I have seen a gradual loss of five pounds over two weeks with far less body crashing recovery after my workouts due to lower blood sugar spikes that occur with meals.

Jo RountreeI have been having a Chocolate Peanut PR*Bar with green tea every morning for breakfast for about 15 years. I prefer it to anything else. If we go on a trip, I take my PR*Bars with me. They have been all over the world. My husband loves them, too. They keep me satisfied until noon. In fact, sometimes I forget about lunch. I don't know what I would do without them!

Thank you for making such a fabulous nutritional product.

Keri and Sydni TuckerMy daughter and I both love the PR*Bar. We love to eat them everyday. She keeps the Yogurt Berry in her lunch bag to fight off hunger while she’s at school all day. My favorite is the Iced Brownie, which is by far the healthiest nutritional snack I’ve ever had. I am always hungry at 2 pm, so I started eating a PR*Bar for my afternoon snack. It has helped control my hunger and also provides me with a healthy afternoon snack.

Stewart NixonThank you for rescuing the PR*Bar. I started eating your bar way back in the 90s when you had only two flavors. I still have the PR*Bar T-shirt that came with my order. I loved you then, and I will love you again now that you're back. I was never quite satisfied with the other guys’ PR*Bar, nor did I see the same results with it. I'm confident that will happen now.

Thank you again for coming out of retirement to offer a great product.

Eric ZahlA friend introduced me to the PR*Bar on a marathon business trip. I was surprised at how good they tasted and how one bar satisfied my hunger. I was so impressed with the taste and quality of the bars, consider me a lifetime customer. It has been a staple for a meal between my regular job and my remodel job. When my energy reserves get low, I always look forward to my PR*Bar break.
